SUSC's Sporting Director and BCSPL Technical Director Jeff Clarke grew up in Coquitlam, British Columbia where he played youth soccer with Metro-Ford SC, now known as Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC. During his time with the Club, his Metro Ford team won three provincial and two Canadian championships. He proudly played in the local VMSL Men’s League periodically between 1993 - 1997 with North Shore Pegasus and then 2009 - 2014 with the SUSC Firefighters Men’s Premier team, winning multiple Imperial & Provincial Cup championships.

2009 - 2023 - Jeff is has as the Technical Director and Director of Operations at Surrey United Soccer Club and has been in such senior positions with the Club since 2009. Jeff has been instrumental in the growth and maturity of the Club throughout his tenure, bringing it to being ranked one of the top soccer clubs in the country.

In his 15 years at Surrey United SC, Jeff has been the driving force behind the SUSC BCSPL Program that has been regarded as one of the top programs in the country with numerous national championships. He has established a club-wide model that has fully integrated player development, academy programs and team development programs as well as levels of play from under 5 years old to over 55-year-old masters programs. Clarke’s leadership and influence as technical director has been key to SUSC being ranked in the top 10 clubs in Canada, as per the CSA Club License ranking system (Nov. 2022).

In 2015 Clarke broadened his portfolio at the club and assumed additional operations and administrative duties as interim Executive Director following the sudden passing of SUSC Executive Director, Martin Foden. Since 2015 Jeff has developed the SUSC Spring Soccer program (including our spring and summer camps), founded the Club’s sponsorship program and been integral in the multi-million dollar capital project of our new Clubhouse, which was a collaboration of SUSC, the City of Surrey and both Provincial and Federal Government branches. He volunteers in many initiatives and advisory boards at the City of Surrey, with an objective of contributing to Surrey on many different levels.

In 2014, in collaboration with the SUSC Board of Directors, Clarke and his family created an annual hardship fund in the SUSC budget, which goes toward supporting underprivileged kids and families within SUSC.

2002 - 2009 - Technical Director of the Guildford Athletic Club . Was influential in building GAC into one of the most progressive clubs in Surrey and the lower mainland. In 2004, he was instrumental in the infrastructure project at Hjorth Road Park, with the building of the clubhouse and turf field complex.

Troye is a Canada Soccer National A License certified coach, with over 20 years of leadership experience throughout Western Canada. Troye was the University of Calgary Dinos women's soccer team head coach and has been previously awarded the Alberta Soccer Association Bert Goldberger Technical Award for his work with St. Albert Soccer Association, an award that recognizes individuals who provide technical leadership that enhances the reputation of soccer in the province and inspires others to improve the game of soccer from a regional, provincial, national, or international perspective. He previously served the Men’s Soccer program at Trinity Western University from 2007-2009 in a full-time assistant coach capacity and later as a part time coach for several seasons. Troye was the Calgary Foothills Girls Academy Director, Head Coach and General Manager of the UWS Team (Women’s Semi-Professional), Calgary Foothills WFC, and served as Technical Director in other youth clubs in Western Canada, most recently Chilliwack FC. Troye was also the Technical Director of the Unity FC League 1 team.

Stefan grew up in Surrey and played locally, representing Surrey United at the tail end of his youth career.
In his senior year of high school, Stefan was scouted by Vancouver Whitecaps and spent a season playing with their Reserve Squad which led to signing a contract with the First Team. While playing for the Whitecaps, Stefan attended Trinity Western University and also had the honour of representing Canada at the international youth level. He has played for the Surrey United Men’s Premier Team over the years, representing British Columbia twice at the National level with other current and former Surrey United Technical Staff.
Initially, Stefan’s coaching career began at Guildford Athletic Club under the leadership of Jeff Clarke. Later, when Jeff Clarke was appointed Technical Director of Surrey United, Stefan followed him. Stefan has been part of the Technical Team for 10+ years and has had the pleasure of contributing to the development of players from Future Prospects to under 18 BC Soccer Premier League.

Tyler currently holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Major in Marketing from the University of the Fraser Valley. He also currently holds his CAPM
designation (Certified Associate in Project Management). He started his university soccer career playing on the varsity soccer programs at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and then Douglas College making national appearances in each year. He then moved onto the University of the Fraser Valley for his final three years of university soccer while finishing his degree. Tyler has been a part of the Surrey United Family from his first kick of a soccer ball to playing on the Men's Premier Team. He is currently proud to be the technical lead for the Adaptive Program and to be involved in many aspects of the club.

Frazer moved to Canada in 2016 and started coaching at Guildford United Athletic Club before moving over to join Surrey United Soccer Club as a Club coach. Fraser played professional soccer back home in the United Kingdom before retiring in 2003 due to a broken leg. After his playing career ended in 2003, he became a sports coach working with young children in elementary schools in the United Kingdom.

Michael is a native of Montreal, Quebec, where he spent many years perfecting his game of soccer under the guidance of the Quebec Provincial Select Program. He represented his Province on many occasions playing
on U14 to U18 Provincial teams. Michael went on to play at the college and university level. During his post-secondary years Michael also played in the Quebec Semi-Pro league, tending goal for Elio Blues, one of Quebec’s top men’s teams. After completing his Bachelor of Education at McGill University he moved to Vancouver, British Columbia to continue his teaching career. In 1990 he received his Master of Education from Western Washington University. Michael was involved in public education for 36 years where he spent over two decades as a school-based administrator. He retired five years ago to coach soccer full time.
Michael has coached teams at Surrey United for over 15 years and has been a club coach for over 12 years. In addition to his work at Surrey United Soccer Club, Michael is the Director of goalkeeping with Surrey/Guildford United and is also a staff coach in charge of goalkeeping with the Guildford Athletic Club and Langley United Soccer Association. Michael has worked with players of all levels from grassroots programs to adult teams.

Ravi Mehan has been coaching for the past 15 years and started working with strong mentors in the lower mainland and built his experience by coaching high level teams (metro and BCSPL programs). At Surrey United, Ravi Mehan is a member of the development stream, and he has worked with players in the developing stages. He establishes excellent relationships with the club's members, and his knowledge of player development offers them a clear path to advancement.
He has been with Surrey United for the past four years and he establishes excellent relationships with the club's members, and his knowledge of player development offers them a clear path to advancement. With his commitments to the club, he is currently the coach of the Surrey United BCSPL 08 Boys team.
He’s been playing since he was 5-year-old. Being raised in a small community of Quesnel he was able to lead his high school team to provincials in the lower mainland region. Making the first all-star team during his high school years was a great accomplishment during this time. Playing in both the VMSL and Fraser valley leagues gave him more experience as a player. He is looking forward to working with the Surrey United Premier Team.
In addition to coaching and playing, he works as an educator in the Langley School District with a Degree in Science/Math and a Master’s in Leadership studies.
He believes that “for any skill set, always teach the “why” behind it”.

Chelsea enjoyed a highly successful soccer career playing for the Vancouver Whitecaps Residency and university soccer at Washington State University. Chelsea was a member of numerous elite teams from the age of twelve representing BC on numerous provincial teams and at the Canada Summer Games. She is a current member of the Surrey United Women’s Premier team. Chelsea has been coaching for Surrey United SC for 2 years, where she has coached our summer camps, academy programs, U6 minis, development, and has coached the SGU Metro teams.

Nick Colyn
SUDA Athletics Program Lead
Currently in his fifth year at Trinity Western University as a student-athlete pursuing a degree in honours biology, Nick is an elite level distance runner competing in events ranging from 1500m - 10000m with a specialty in the 3000m steeplechase. Nick grew up playing youth soccer with the Langley United Youth Soccer Association and eventually made the transition to running later on in high school. Nick has been a member of the Canadian National Team for the IAAF World Junior Championships (2016) and Pan American Cross Country Championships (2016) and is actively competing for both Trinity Western University and the Langley Mustangs Endurance Team with goals of representing Canada on the international stage. Over the last 5 years, Nick has been an active coach with the Langley Mustangs Track Club helping develop the middle distance junior development program. Nick has a passion to help young athletes develop the foundational athletic skills focusing on proper biomechanics and form, speed endurance and acceleration and help athletes apply these skills at all levels of competition.

For the past 7 years, she has been coaching various groups including youth, men and women’s teams. She is associated with the Black Canadian Coaches Association as a mentee.
