Super Soccer (Adaptive) Program
Program Overview
Sponsored by SUSC Community Partner: K4 Construction
Surrey United SC continues to offer its Super Soccer (Adaptive) Program for 2010-2017 born players in the region. This program is a 8-week program that provides a barrier-free training opportunity for children to participate in a sport regardless of any obstacle that may make participation in traditional programming a challenge.
SPECIAL NOTE: This program is adapted for and focused on providing an environment specifically designed for children with physical disabilities, ADHD, FASD, OCD and other cognitive and sensory challenges. This program is open to participants that would not otherwise be comfortable in a traditional soccer program setting due to mental and/or physical challenges.
The curriculum for this program has been developed in collaboration with Jill Crichton - Kinsight organization Coordinator for Complex Developmental Behavioural Conditions; and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Program delivery is provided by Surrey United Staff Coach, Tyler Henderson with oversight by our Technical Director, Assistant Technical Directors, Junior Club coaches, mentees from our SUSC Mentorship Program, and other club volunteers who provide further support in the successful delivery of this program. The curriculum is based on the CSA Learn to Play model.
